What I do: I sell Omaha as a top meeting destination to associations and organizations located in the Midwest.

How I got here: I started my career in the hospitality industry at the Sioux Falls CVB in 2009 as a sport sales manager. From there, I moved into the convention sales manager role for a short while, then got promoted to the assistant director of sales and marketing. The last three years of my term at the Sioux Falls was as the director of sales. Then I met the love of my life, and my heart and husband took me back to my home state of Nebraska. I started with Visit Omaha in April 2017.

Greatest career accomplishment: I am most proud of earning my CMP in 2014 and becoming the director of sales at the Sioux Falls CVB.

Impressive stats: Approaching my two-year anniversary, I have hit or exceeded the goals given to my position and increased exposure in the Midwest market. My 2019 goal is to focus on the Chicago-based associations, get more involved in the industry-based organizations and to build those relationships.

What I am working on now: I am excited about the opportunity to focus on Chicago and their rolodex of locally based associations. I am looking forward to the industry partnerships we are rolling out in 2019 to help build those relationships, start a new conversation about what Omaha has to offer and to become more involved in the Chicagoland industry.

What I do outside of work: Any free time is spent with my husband, our two dogs, Ellie and Sugar Bear, and my family and friends. At the moment, house projects are keeping us busy, but we love a great meal, good music, and if the two can be in an amazing new city, that is a bonus! I also serve on the MPI Heartland Chapter Board and the PCMA Heartland Chapter Membership Committee.
