What I do:
We offer event strategy, creative design, and production services for associations, corporations and nonprofits around the U.S. Our clients include key organizations in the association industry, including PCMA. We create and execute the Style Lounge at the Visionary Awards and help with the design of the evening’s after-party event.
Most recently, we pivoted our business offerings to adapt to the current virtual event environment with a product and service called Cheers in a Box. Cheers in a Box is an all-in-one virtual event and gifting solution for organizations looking to do something joyful for their attendees, staff and customers. We creatively curate themed boxes with branded quality products from mocktails to cocktails, wine, coffee and more. Plus, we produce the entire virtual event, so clients can sit back and relax along with their guests.
How I got here:
I’ll never forget that day when I got an offer to leave the Washington Redskins to go and work for The Health Industry Distributors Association as a meeting planner. As a 25-year-old, I got the opportunity to lead an events department, design and execute at large. After five years, I went to work for an AMC. J Shea Events started in 2012 with my first clients all coming from my association relationships. ASAE was my first client, planning its annual golf tournaments. Next were some CVBs, including Travel Alberta, Canada.
We are a staff of two people and we execute between 35 and 50 events annually for our clients.
