Rachel Stephan, DES, 50
Event Marketing Strategist, sensov/; Event Tech Founder, Snöball, Montreal
What I do:
I am an event marketing strategist working with meeting planners and event organizers to get butts in seats. Now with digital events, I help them get eyeballs on screens. I run sensov/, a full-service event marketing agency. In addition, I am an event tech founder and snöballer-in-chief at Snöball, the first event-focused influencer marketing tool to help grow attendance and audience.
My greatest career accomplishment:
Becoming a speaker on event and influencer marketing. What people don’t know about me is I’m an introvert.
Bringing 15,000 event profs from 142 countries to join the GMID Goes Virtual Event in April 2020 and coming close to breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest online attendance. I used the power of Snöball to mobilize our 2,000 registrants to be brand ambassadors.
A specific improvement I’ve made:
Our industry is built on the power of community, and events are all about communities of various industries coming together. My goal is to democratize influence and empower each individual to grow these communities.
What I am working on right now:
What I am mostly excited about is launching our new Snöball which will make is accessible to all events and marketing team to run their event marketing campaigns in record time. I am also starting a video series that answers all questions relating to event marketing, attendee acquisitions, and interviewing some of digital marketing experts to share proven strategies and tips we can steal. Stay tuned.
What I do outside of work:
When I am not working my business, I am volunteering as a founding board member with the Global Event Collective. Family time is priority for me, raising a 6-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son. My hidden passion is interior design and mid-century furniture decor.
Favorite vacation destination:
Nice, Côte D’azure, France. Walking up and down the Old Town and having lunch by the beach.
