Alex Hagn, 37
Group Sales Manager, Visit Park City
Park City, Utah
What I do:
I educate people about our accessibility, the variety of hotels and venues we represent, and the different experiences we can customize for attendees in our mountain destination.
How I got here:
After college, I worked in inside and retail sales before moving to Park City. After moving to Park City, I started working as a front desk agent at a local hotel and fell in love with the industry. After working at that hotel for over six years and becoming the director of rooms, I made the jump over to the CVB.
My greatest career accomplishment:
Taking a hotel that had zero ratings and helping it earn a Forbes Four-Star and AAA Four-Diamond rating.
Booked business revenue per year: $2.9 million (2018), $4.3 million (2019), $1.3 million (2020)
A specific improvement I’ve made:
Helping to create new maps and marketing material to educate planners about Park City
What I’m working on right now:
To be traveling again to any in-person industry events!
What I do outside of work:
When I’m not traveling for work or fun, ice hockey is my biggest year-round passion. I love the mountains and also enjoy skiing and mountain biking!
Favorite vacation destination:
Most recently, Los Cabos! Two-and-a-half-hour direct flight from SLC… I’m hooked!
Favorite icebreaker line:
‘Have you ever been to Utah before?’ Or during an open-bar reception, ‘Can I buy you a drink?”
Always bring an empty Nalgene bottle to fill up with water next to your gate. Amazon Fire TV Stick is also a sneaky good travel item!
