The vibrant capital city has two convention centers for meeting planners to consider. For something traditional, there is Alliant Energy Center
, which is accessible from the Beltline Highway, connected to Clarion Suites and has plenty of parking. A 290,000-sq.-ft. pavilion is scheduled for completion in 2014. Centerplate provides professional catering service and customized menus.
, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, is a more distinctive option. The LEED Silver-certified building is connected to Hilton Madison with views of Lake Monona’s shores.
Penny Molina, conference coordinator for Biodynamic Conference, held her event in Madison for two main reasons: its central location and Monona Terrace. “We wanted to be in a space that was not only accommodating, but had a warmth and sensibility that would make our guests feel well,” says Molina. “The staff was impeccable. IT was on-call, so all presentations went off smoothly, and the catering department even took on our challenge of a full organic menu.”
