What I do:
I helped the Event Tech Tribe form and now I’m the glue that keeps it together. I build our brand by ensuring each Tribe member company is technically integrated, culturally aligned and utterly committed to being best in craft. I help customers smash their event tech goals by choosing the right tech; I help our teams work together seamlessly; and I evangelize about event tech around the world.
Greatest career accomplishment:
Being elected as the first non-U.S.-based director of the Association for Women in Events, and seeing the event app our company built used at global conferences.
There’s been a 200 percent ROI for Tribe members in 2017; and I raised over $2 million for my event app company (ShowGizmo) and ran a user conference for less than the cost of a plane ticket to New Zealand. I also raised 50 percent more sponsorship for a 2017 conference than was raised the year prior.
Specific improvement I’ve made:
I introduced audience-engagement technology, Glisser, to our conferences in New Zealand and Australia this year. While there was some worry this particular community wouldn’t participate, we had an average of 40 percent use during each session. We found out attendees’ likes and dislikes without asking and got more than 100 questions to follow up with cool content.
What I’m working on:
I’m launching the #womenineventtech movement with Leonora Valvo, founder and CEO of Swoogo. There’s a huge opportunity for women to lead in this niche of our industry, so can’t wait to see it come alive.
