With hits like “Revelation” and “Healer” played in churches across the world, Grammy-nominated Kari Jobe is a power player in the Christian music scene. But there’s more to love about the singer/songwriter than her music. Be inspired by three of Jobe’s passions that go beyond the stage.
Jobe knew her husband, Cody Carnes, for five years before their relationship turned romantic. Celebrating three years of marriage this November, Jobe is outspoken about her adoration for her husband. “He makes my heart come alive. He makes me less anxious; I take deep breaths now,” said Jobe of Carnes during a 2016 interview with Bethel Music’s Brian and Jenn Johnson. She also wrote the foreword to “The Right One: How to Successfully Date and Marry the Right Person,” a book by Jimmy Evans and Frank Martin.
With two ministers as parents, Jobe grew up attending church and began leading worship as a teenager. “My heart for worship is my life and my passion, [and] it’s what I love more than anything in the world,” she said in an interview with K-LOVE radio network. “To me it’s not about music and it’s not about just writing songs,” she continued. “It’s about connecting people to the heart of God.” Jobe has led worship services across the world at conferences like Women of Faith
, Joyce Meyer Ministries Conference Tour
. Currently she’s performing on the Outcry Tour
with Jesus Culture, Lauren Daigle and Bethel Music, among others.
Fighting Human Trafficking
Jobe and her sister, Kris, developed a jewelry and T-shirt line as a way to raise money to fight human trafficking. Sold at venues across the country during Jobe’s “Burning Lights” tour with Chris Tomlin, the merchandise helps fund A21
, an organization committed to abolishing slavery.
