What I do: I have the distinct honor of being responsible for the religious or faith-based market for Hyatt Hotels on a global basis. In addition to this, I am also responsible for the fraternal (college fraternities and sororities), professional fraternities, college honor societies and service organizations (Moose, Elks, Kiwanis, etc.).
How I got Here: After I graduated from college, I had the opportunity to be a chapter leadership consultant for my fraternity (Delta Sigma Phi) for two years and then started working for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. I have worked at five different Hyatt hotels during my 36-year career—notably at Hyatt Regency Atlanta between 1994 and 1998, during the Olympics. Throughout my career, I have also been a member of numerous industry organizations: RCMA, CMCA, ASAE, MPI, PCMA, HSMAI. I have also served as the president of the Michigan chapter of HSAMI, and the president of the Greater Orlando MPI Chapter.
Greatest career accomplishments: Being the president of the Greater Orlando Chapter of MPI and ,on numerous occasions, being nominated as Sales Manager of the year for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. I was also nominated as World Wide Sales Manager of the year for Hyatt Hotels! I am known as Mr. Hyatt in the markets that I handle!
Specific improvement I’ve made: During the past 36 years, I have had the privilege of developing many people into better managers and then to see them grow and be promoted to another hotel.
