All of the Hospitality, None of the Traffic in Cleburne, Texas

Here are five reasons why Cleburne should be on your radar for Texas-based religious events.

All of the Hospitality, None of the Traffic in Cleburne, Texas

With a state as big as Texas, you might feel overwhelmed by the number of places that could host your next event. However, all locations aren’t created equal. You need a city that understands the needs of faith-based meeting planners like you, key amenities and a partner to help you make it a great event from start to finish. Enter Cleburne, Texas. The city is a pro when it comes to hosting faith-based events and meetings and would love to show your group a great time. The city has the square footage and guest rooms you need, plus something extra.

You're in Good Company

Wondering who else has visited Cleburne and loved it? The area has had the privilege of hosting groups from Promise Church and Compelling Church, Jehovah’s Witnesses Memorial of Jesus’ Death experience and the Holy Week Services community event. Crossroads Fellowship and The Marksmen have also held concerts here.

As far as conferences, the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth Convention and Hope Encounter Women’s Conference drew large crowds. Additionally, The First United Pentecostal Church came to Cleburne for both their Christmas celebration and annual dinner. Hill Church held its men’s retreat here, and the Christian Women’s’ Job Fair brought its annual style show.

Why did they come to Cleburne? These groups were able to plan first-class events in a beautiful venue without busting their budget. One of the other perks to small-town meetings is the abundance of free parking!

Convenience in Every Direction

Its welcoming community stands ready to meet—and exceed—your expectations.

Originally established as a crossroads and transportation center, Cleburne still maintains an ideal location. Just 30 miles south of Fort Worth, it’s close enough to the big city to stay accessible, but far enough away to have its own personality.

Of course, getting there by car is easy, and attendees can take Highways 67, 171 and 174 to get to the city. It’s also minutes off Interstate 35W. For attendees flying in,  its regional airport has Enterprise rental cars for their convenience.

All the Meeting Space You Need

Big and small groups alike have met in Cleburne and enjoyed their stay. For large gatherings, there’s no place better than the Cleburne Conference Center. A state-of-the-art facility, the 45,000-sq.-ft. center is known for its versatility and amenities. Meeting planners can rent one room or the entire building. It’s recommended to rent the 297-seat Performing Arts Center for general sessions and seminars.

There are also a variety of other venue options if you’re looking for something unique or more casual. And guests have over 700 hotel rooms to choose from to call home while they’re here.

Food, Glorious Food

F&B is a top consideration for any meeting or event, and you’ll find plenty of options for all taste buds in Cleburne. From familiar favorites to local, one-of-a-kind restaurants, Cleburne has whatever your attendees crave.

When it comes to dining, everyone has their favorites, but Tex-Mex, burgers and barbecue are always top of mind in this area. Need your own space? Susannah’s Home-Style Cooking, Fly By Night, Dickey’s Barbecue and La Fiesta each have private rooms to accommodate groups. And all nearby restaurants cater, just in case you want the food brought to you. On-site or off-site, you can’t go wrong with local Texas flavors.

As Active as You Want to Be

The final element for planning a terrific event is a location with plenty for attendees to do. In Cleburne, your guests have plenty of things to choose from if they want to explore the city. With activities spanning educational to recreational, they won’t visit Cleburne, they’ll experience it.

One of the most beloved local attractions is the Chisholm Trail Outdoor Museum, an ode to the Chisholm Trail, which was a popular route for both commerce and cattle (a big thing in Texas!). It helped put Cleburne on the map. The museum features life-size cattle silhouettes, the original Johnson County courthouse, a working blacksmith shop, a stagecoach station, teepees and more.

Golf lovers should plan a trip to the Cleburne Golf Course, one of the only link-style courses in the area. And, if water sports are something your attendees adore, Lake Pat Cleburne is the perfect spot for fishing, swimming, water skiing, power boating and sailing.

Whatever you and your attendees decide to do, make time to experience the local culture. From annual events and summer concerts to homemade goodies at Market Square to country and western dancing, Cleburne has a way of making guests feel like it’s their home away from home.
