10 Marketplace Takeaways on Branding Your Faith-Based Organization

Multiple attendees asked for the 10 takeaways we gathered in Jason Zook's "Creative Conversation: Self-Branding and Marketing" session at Rejuvenate Marketplace 2015 on how to brand your faith-based organization. Without further ado, here you go: 1. Make a small change in your event and DO NOT ask for permission. Focusing on one element and altering it can serve as a case study. 2. Find out what names/emotions/thoughts your members/attendees use to describe your organization. It may be different from what you think they would say. 3. Listen more. 4. Names of events/organizations don’t matter as much as you think. Don't stress over it. Think of Apple, Google and Zappos. 5. Find out where your audience is and meet them there. If they’re not on social media, don’t do social media. If they’re email-driven, keep a regular email blast. Put your effort in finding them where they want to be found. 6. Two books to read: "Change or Die" and "The Lean Startup" 7. Email Jason to get his email marketing advice: hello@Jasonzook.com 8. Don’t pay more than $10 for a website. Invest in Squarespace. 9. Start thinking about your organization as a brand. 10. Start now. Don’t do research and wait. Start now.   Jason Zook is a speaker, entrepreneur and marketing guru.
