Craig Mackay graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor’s in business administration with emphasis in hospitality and tourism. He spent four years with Bruno Event Team as coordinator and then as sales manager for the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic Presented by C Spire – A PGA Tour Champions event. Now with Visit Mississippi Gulf Coast, Mackay works closely with the local community on strategies to showcase the region as a premier sporting destination.
Career Accomplishments
Mackay has been involved in bringing the National Veterans Golden Age Games to the Mississippi Coast Convention Center, where participants will compete in events ranging from bocce to bingo. He was also instrumental in bringing the Athletx Baseball event to the Coast. These events combined will be responsible for more than 11,000 hotel room nights in the region! He continues with enthusiasm to seek out large events and niche activities—like U.S. Quidditch—alike.
