Tough Mudder is seeking a new destination for its 2021-2023 World's Toughest Mudder. Spanning two weeks, these events offer destinations the best of both worlds: economic impact and global media exposure.
The first event weekend, the classic Tough Mudder, is tailored for the masses. More than 8,000 participants and fans will take on our 5k and 10-mile courses, enjoy live music, cold beer and local food in a festival, and bring their kids and dogs along for Mini Mudder and Ruff Mudder.
During the second week, top elite athletes from around the world will descend on your destination to take on the pinnacle event in extreme obstacle course racing: World’s Toughest Mudder.
For 24 Hours, the best in the world will race alongside new challengers, taking on a 5-mile circuit course of 25 obstacles, mental challenges and extreme natural hazards. Donning wetsuits and headlamps, they’ll continue all night long, each supported by a “pit crew” of three to five assistants who are feeding, dressing and caring for them as they trudge through the grueling course.
Millions of fans from around the globe will be cheering for their nation while watching the live action from the comfort of their homes during the World’s Toughest Mudder event weekend, with live content streamed on Tough Mudder’s Facebook and Instagram live channels, and memorialized in a long-form documentary.
Here are the details:
Time of year: November/December annually
Deadline to bid: Sept. 21, 2020 by 5:00 p.m. PST
- Must be within 60 miles of a metropolitan area
- 600+ acres
- Prefer waterway to be incorporated into the course
- 10 acres of flat land for festival, tents, camping, restrooms, and spectators
- 5 acres s of flat land to be utilized for parking.
- Must be able to excavate water pits up to 10’ deep to support obstacle construction.
- Venue reservation for a minimum of 28 days for onsite build, race, and breakdown.
Estimated number of athletes: 10,000-18,000
Room nights: More than 5,000 on average
Hotel rate: $200 or less
Rights fee: $150,000 minimum + VIK
