Up for Bid: 2021 Major League Quidditch Championship

Major League Quidditch, a league based upon the sport inspired by "Harry Potter," is seeking bids to host the 2021 MLQ Championship. Twelve teams composed of elite players from across the U.S. and Canada will battle it out for the Benepe Cup and the title of MLQ Champion at the event. Here are the details

Deadline to bid: Aug. 1, 2020

Dates: Late August

Venue requirements: The facility must have high-quality turf or grass fields with enough space to fit at least three quidditch pitches. 

Attendees: More than 200 players; 700 spectators

Hotel requirements: Near airport and venue

Room nights: 150-200

Rate: $119-$129 per night 

Economic Impact: The past two championship events have generated $170,000 and $183,000 in economic impact, respectively.

Rights fee: $6,000
