Sports Rhode Island

Rhode Island

Rhode Island is a year-round sports destination, and its compact size means the state’s many stadiums, fields and courts are within easy reach. The Ocean State features a variety of sports facilities and ample accommodations, and is ideal for all levels of events from youth sports to college and university athletics all the way up to professional teams. The state’s fun family attractions, pristine beaches and award-winning restaurants offer plenty for athletes and their families to do after the game.

Known as the Creative Capital, Providence has gained national attention over the past few years for its culinary and arts and culture scenes, including being named one of the 52 places in the world to visit in 2016 by The New York Times.

The Rhode Island Convention & Entertainment Complex is located in the center of Providence and consists of the Rhode Island Convention Center, the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and the Veterans Memorial Auditorium. RICC offers a 100,000-contiguous-sq.-ft. exhibition hall, a 20,000-sq.-ft. ballroom, 23 meeting rooms and the Rotunda Room, which provides spectacular views of the city.

Located between New York City and Boston, Rhode Island is easily accessible by plane, train or car. About 25 percent of the U.S. population lives within 500 miles of the state.

We love holding the Athletic Championships in Providence. It’s the right mix of high-class facilities, quality amenities and a convenient location—all at a budget-friendly price point.
