USA Triathlon is seeking bids to hosts its Age Group National Championships and Youth and Junior Nationals in 2023 and 2024. The host site of this event will welcome up to 6,500 amateur athletes along with more than 12,000 spectators from across the United States. Here are the details.

Deadline to Bid: Aug. 27, 2021

Time of Year: Last weekend of July of first two weekends of August

Venue Requirements: Adequate space for swim start/finish, transition area, finish line, athlete recovery area, spectator viewing, parking and race expo. Venue should not be more than 20 minutes’ drive from hotels. No split transition area.

Number of attendees: 5,500 out-of-town athletes; 9,000 out-of-town spectators

Hotel requirements: Should be able to service 5,500 athletes plus staff, friends, family, spectators and sponsors. Meeting space fitting up to 1,500 for awards ceremony.

Rate: $70-$225

Rights Fee: $70,000 ($35,000 per year)

Projected Economic Impact: $7 million + (direct and indirect)
